Resilience Insights
Matt has been working in the field of Information Security since October 2000, when he was fortunate enough to be offered an entry-level role as an IT Security Architect at IBM. Having previously been a network engineer working with multi-customer environments, he took a keen interest in how these customers were segregated from each other whilst also utilising shared services and resources. Since then, Matt has moved through several different roles and companies, including enterprise security architecture, consultancy, IT managed services security and has more recently held Director and CISO roles in the civil nuclear, mining and aviation industries. These roles covered many facets of Security strategy, transformation, leadership and advisory, whilst addressing challenges including IT/OT security, multi-national regulation and the complexities of mergers and acquisitions. He has built and led security teams, focusing on the importance of developing an information security culture through stakeholder engagement, relationship-building, awareness, and communication. Since 2022, Matt has been independently consulting, supporting several companies in developing and operating their security capabilities.
